Take the first step towards becoming a mosaic artist!  This class is perfect for mosaic artists of all levels!

Whether you’re interested in learning the fundamentals of mosaic art, giving a homemade gift, meeting others students who are passionate about mosaics, or are just curious about the mosaic medium, our workshop provides the perfect forum to create mosaic projects.  Requiring no previous experience, our class focuses on teaching you the essentials of mosaic art, such as:

Glass Product Terminology

Cutting and Shaping Tips

The Setting Process

Grouting, Sealing and Finishing

You can choose to create a mosaic project from one of the decorative objects we provide or if you have a specific design in mind, perhaps a photo or a magazine cut out, then you may bring it in and work on a 12” x 12” board to make your own unique project.  Alternatively, if you let us know in advance, you can work on an 18" diameter table for an additional charge; please keep in mind though that this project will definitely take more than one class to finish.

We want you to go home with a completed project that you can be proud of.  In that light, we provide a class that runs long enough to complete most projects, from initial design to grouting.  Be sure to bring a lunch to eat between the setting and grouting process.  Since time is limited be sure to come with a project idea in mine and if for some reason you’re unable to complete your project, you're more than welcome to stop by during normal business hours to complete your project.

The class is taught by the talented Tara Tavonatti.  She is a highly accredited artist that has earned her BFA and MFA in Illustration and has taken her talents into mosaics.   Tara has crafted this class to give you the best instruction on learning mosaic craftsmanship.

• Please note that there is limited space in each class.  In that light, there is a 25$ deposit charge for not calling ahead within 12 hours to cancel your reservation.
