Awesome tile for kitchen backsplash

I used the Savannah Tea Glass Blend as a backsplash to my Stellar Rose Silestone countertops to update my kitchen yet to maintain the 1960s look. In addition, glass-faced copper mosaic tiles were interspersed throughout the mosaic blend with great success. At first I was intimidated by the paper-faced mosaic sheets, but found that with careful application, the tile was beautifully spaced at the "seams". If you haven't used paper-faced sheets before, you cannot see what you have done until the mastic hardens and you peel off the paper. I suggest that you put the mastic on fairly thick because the tiles have a concave "bubble" on the back that will show if the mastic doesn't completely fill each one. Also, use "super white" or "ultra white" mastic, which has to be special ordered at the "big box" stores. This will make your tile colors brighter and more true. I have tiled two floors and a countertop previously. This project was challenging, but "do-able". I love the effect of these tiles; they are slightly irregular probably because they are partially made of recycled glass, but the results worked beautifully in my kitchen!!
